চীনের উত্তর-পশ্চিমাঞ্চলীয় চিউছুয়ান উপগ্রহ উৎক্ষেপণ কেন্দ্র থেকে বৃহস্পতিবার দূর অনুবেদন উপগ্রহের দুটি নতুন দল উৎক্ষেপণ করা হয়েছে।
‘ইয়াওকান-৫৩’ও ‘ইয়াওকান-৫৬’ দলের উপগ্রহগুলো ‘লং মার্চ-৪বি’ বাহক রকেটের মাধ্যমে বেইজিং সময় বিকেল ৫টায় উৎক্ষেপণ করা হয়। এরপর উপগ্রহগুলো সফলভাবে পূর্বনির্ধারিত কক্ষপথে প্রবেশ করে।
উপগ্রহগুলো মূলত বৈজ্ঞানিক পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষা, ভূমি ও সম্পদ জরিপ, ফসলের ফলন এবং দুর্যোগ প্রতিরোধ ও ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হ্রাসের কাজে ব্যবহৃত হবে। এই উৎক্ষেপণে ‘লং মার্চ’ বাহক রকেটের মোট মিশনের সংখ্যা দাঁড়াল ৬৬৬টি।

China launches new remote sensing satellite groups
China launched two new groups of remote sensing satellites from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Thursday.
The satellites of the Yaogan-53 and Yaogan-56 groups were launched at 17:00 (Beijing Time) aboard a Long March-4B carrier rocket, and they entered the preset orbits successfully.
They are primarily used for scientific experiments, land and resources surveys, crop yield estimation and disaster prevention and reduction.
The launch marked the 666th mission of the Long March carrier rockets.
