এপ্রিল ২০, সিএমজি বাংলা ডেস্ক: ১৬তম বেইজিং আন্তর্জাতিক চলচ্চিত্র উৎসবে থিয়ানথান পুরস্কারের বিচারকার্য শুরু হওয়ার সাথে সাথে জুরি সভাপতি জুলিয়েট বিনোশ শুক্রবার বলেছেন যে, তিনি এ বছরের জমা পড়া চলচ্চিত্রগুলোতে মৌলিকতা এবং প্রামাণিকতা খুঁজছেন।
১৬ থেকে ২৫ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত চলমান এই উৎসবটি চলচ্চিত্রের এক সমৃদ্ধ সময়কে উপস্থাপন করে এবং এর সর্বোচ্চ সম্মান, থিয়ানথান পুরস্কার প্রদানের মাধ্যমে সমাপ্তি ঘটে।
এ বছরের প্রতিযোগিতায় ১৩৯টি দেশ ও অঞ্চল থেকে ১ হাজার ৮০০টিরও বেশি চলচ্চিত্র জমা পড়েছে, যার মধ্যে ৮৮ শতাংশই আন্তর্জাতিক। বারোটি চলচ্চিত্র সংক্ষিপ্ত তালিকায় স্থান পেয়েছে, যার মধ্যে চারটি চীন থেকে এবং আটটি অন্যান্য দেশ থেকে।
ফরাসি অভিনেত্রী এবং এ বছরের থিয়ানথান পুরস্কারের জুরি সভাপতি জুলিয়েট বিনোশ জোর দিয়ে বলেছেন যে, জুরিকে একেবারে শেষ পর্যন্ত প্রতিটি চলচ্চিত্রের জন্য উন্মুক্ত থাকতে হবে।
প্রথমবারের মতো চীনা চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাতাদের সাথে জুরিতে কাজ করার অভিজ্ঞতাটিকে বিনোশ উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ এবং সমৃদ্ধ বলে বর্ণনা করেছেন এবং বিশেষ করে পরিচালক বি কান-এর প্রশংসা করেছেন।
নিজের মূলনীতি তুলে ধরে বিনোশ বিচার প্রক্রিয়ায় আন্তরিকতা এবং সংলাপের গুরুত্বের ওপর জোর দেন।

Tiantan Award jury president Juliette Binoche seeks originality, authenticity in entries----
As judging begins for the Tiantan Award at the 16th Beijing International Film Festival, jury president Juliette Binoche said on Friday that she is looking for originality and authenticity in this year's entries.
Running from April 16 to 25, the festival offers a rich panorama of films and culminates in the presentation of its highest honor, the Tiantan Award.
This year's competition attracted more than 1,800 submissions from 139 countries and regions, with international entries accounting for 88 percent of the total. Twelve films have been shortlisted, including four from China and eight from overseas.
Juliette Binoche, one of the most respected French performers and jury president of this year's Tiantan Award, emphasized that the jury must stay open to every film until the very end.
"I want to see something new. I want to see something that I've never seen before. For the moment, we're on the verge of watching films every day. We're in discussions, and also, you know that when you're going through a process in a jury, you never decide a prize before the end, because you've got to give a chance until the end to the last film you're gonna be watching," she said.
Serving on a jury with Chinese filmmakers for the first time, Binoche described the experience as both exciting and enriching, singling out director Bi Gan for particular praise.
"I'm so excited that Bi Gan is in the jury, because I love his film. And you know, in Cannes festival, we gave a special prize for his Resurrection. Each time, I was like, it cannot be real. It cannot be real. I was like so mesmerized by the risk, his imagination, the way he was telling the story. There's no one like him," she said.
Highlighting her guiding principle, Binoche stressed the value of sincerity and dialogue in the judging process.
"Principle is to be genuine in what you're thinking and feeling and questioning, and also listening to each other. I've been in different juries, and I've seen myself throughout -- what I said at the beginning, after watching the film, and the fact that I listened to others made me really change my mind. So, it's a very interesting process," she said.
